What you will need: Pistol with 10 round capacity (2 mags) and rifle with 10 round capacity (1mag) about 150 rounds split between pistol and rifle 3 to 4 hours of your time $10 for members & $20 for non-members

Cowboy Action Shooting December 2021

Hello Cowboy Shooters, As everybody knows, nothing kicks off the Christmas holiday like a rootin’-tootin’ shootin’ match. So, tie that Christmas bow on your hat, hang some silver bells from your spurs, and join us for the Canyon Oaks Shootists Cowboy Action Match on Sunday, December 12, 2021. It’s looking like the weather will be mild which is a nice change from our summer heat in November. It may even be the kind of weather that calls for a duster or town coat. Get ‘em off the hangers and we’ll see you next weekend. If you are planning to attend, it will be very helpful if you respond to this email with your alias and the category you will be shooting (Duelist, Cattle Baron, Gunfighter, etc). This really helps us out in preparing for the match. Here are the particulars: Match day is Sunday, December 12, 2021 Sign in begins at 8:30 AM on Pistol Range 3 Match begins at 9:00 AM Target set up begins at 9:00 AM on Saturday, December 11th. We ALWAYS appreciate help, and many hands make light work. Once the targets are set, stick around for a little practice so you’ll be warmed up for the match. See ya’ll on Sunday.

September Scenario:

Minor Moving along the line “No shoot” target penalties Iron sights preferred (but it’s up to you) Will need at least 2 magazines (there will be a reload) Accuracy / Safety scenario (3 to 10 yards) Will need 15-ish rounds per course attempt Scored by accurate target hits and time Firearm Holsters & Mag Holster strongly recommended

This month's focus is on accuracy … not time. As it's said "Aim straight". A brand-new course with new targets never used before Minor ‘Moving’ required Magazine Emergency Reload required Must have 2 magazines Firearm Holsters recommended Iron sights preferred (but it’s up to you) Distance between 5 - 10 yards (but may be adjusted) Need 15 rounds (or less ; ) per course attempt Award for ‘most improved’ on multiple runs

• Bring your Revolver for a change of pace! • ‘Moving’ required (so wear that knee wrap if needed) • Reloads are required • Iron sights preferred (but it’s up to you) • Must have 3 magazines / Firearm Holsters recommended • Unless you want to hand-load rounds into your single mag • Distance between 7 - 25 yards (but may be adjusted) • Need only 9 rounds (no more, no less) per course attempt • Combined score based on accurate hits and time
